looking for info on istalling a landing light in a 14-13-2 . Mine didn't come with one. I was wondering if anyone has put a landing light in the leading edge on a 14-13-2. I know the aleron cables run behind the leading edge. I don't know if Bellanca put one in on later models, or if it is possible because of the aleron cables.

Any info would be great.

Russ.

My 14-13 has the Grimes ST-250 retractable light. It is under the left wing on the panel just forward of the wheel cut-out and is accessable through the wheel well. It would be a reletively easy installation to accomplish.

I have lights on the leading edge out past the pullies. If you are looking for a grimes light I have one I would probobly sell after I find out if it works. It is electric and lowers when the landing light switch is turned on.

I am a bit confused.
My 14-13-2 equipment list mention about a grime retractable landing light under the co-pilot seat. The switch in the panel has 3 positions. off, retract and on :?:
There is no light installed outside the bird... :?
I will investigate more but find it a good idea to put it under the wing at the wheel well area like mentionned above somewhere.
I saw some bird with lights in the left wing leading edge, some in the right, read about the one near the gear and mine say under the co-pilot...where is my prozac. :x
Nothing wrong in being confused right?

My 14-13-3 has a landing light in the leading edge of the left wing, but it's placed so that some of the light reflects off the prop disc. :?

I wondered if that was the original installation? I've seen some of the retractable ones before, on other planes, but a friend of mine was just telling me about seeing one on a bellanca triple tail he saw in florida- on the ground at lantana, or something like that.
