I am new to this forum and in the market for my first Citabria. I'm trying to make sense of the all the letter disignators. Anywhere i can find out all the differences between the models? i.e. which came from the factory with metal spars, 150hp, Flaps, etc.

Thanks,

Bob

The American Champion Aircraft site should answer most of you questions as far as letter designators.

The GCBC is the model with flaps. Also named the Scout in the 8 series aircraft.

Actually go to faa.gov and look up the TCDS. its A-759.
This is to sort out the soup of letters.

Anything built after 1990 was metal spar originally. Although we have retrofitted a lot of airplanes. Over the years we have made a good number of changes, so you might need to just ask more specific questions. :)

Thanks guys.

What would be an estimated cost of the metal spar STC? less labor. Does it require major rib/strut changes?

Thanks,

Go to the American Champion Aircraft web site for all the details and prices for new wings.

Yea, thanks, i looked at the new wings. but there is a STC out there to retrofit metal spars into existing wings. i was inquiring about the cost for that.

Thanks,

Does anyone have experience with the Millman STC? are the spars a direct replacement, or are there changes/modificatons to the ribs?
what was the cost?
