Lycoming O-360 (180 HP) in a Cruisair?

Guys,

I'm looking at replacing my Lycoming O-435.
Does anybody know if there is an STC for putting a Lycoming O-360
(180 HP) in a 1946 14-13-2? I have heard that some Cruisair owners have done this, but I don't know if they did it with an STC or just a field approval.

If so, which versions of the engine are covered? (A1AD, A1H6, A1A, A4M?)

Thanks,

hey kent!

ozzie levi (N6504N lancaster, ca.) has a 14-13-3 with an o-360 and c/s prop on the nose and randy smith (N74372 lake dallas, tx.) has a 14-13-2 with the same. good performers and certainly easier to get parts for than the franklin or O-435.

you can look up addresses on the landings.com database search. i'm sure they'd be glad to talk/correspond with you.

hope this helps.

I think I would miss my "eyebrows" on the nosebowl. I'm holding out for a -335 Franklin. Reinstalling the -150 B3 for now. :D

My AI says I can do more for speed just being careful with rigging, enclosing the antennae, adding flap gap seals, and figuring out a way to keep air out of the wheelwell. That's just what I'm gonna do.
