Mitchell Oil Pressure Gauge for 8KCAB

Has anyone had an issue with the 150 psi Mitchell Oil Pressure Gauge (PN#D1-111-5068) reading low on an 8KCAB? I have a 1978 Super D and my mechanic replaced the old gauge with a new Mitchell gauge (ordered from ACA, uses a sender). It is only reading 65 psi. My mech called ACA and they said that is the proper gauge. However, he then spoke with an engineer at Mitchell who said the sender with that gauge won't allow it to read any higher than 65 psi. He also said their 0-100 psi gauge and sender will read properly in an 8KCAB, however, ACA does not currently approve of that gauge for the 8KCAB. Apparently, Mitchell went out and got their own PMA for that gauge.

Rock and a hard place? Any help on this would be appreciated.

Jerry. I made a mistake listing that part number. My mechanic has D1-211-5058, 0-150 psi installed in the plane, which was sent by ACA. It is registering 65 psi when we run it up, which is too low. Bob at Mitchell Aircraft Products insists it should be D1-211-5056, 0-100 psi instead. He says the sender PS-211-9040 that is paired with the 150 psi gauge won't allow it to read higher than about 65 psi, which is what we are seeing in the plane.

It looks like ACA sends out the 0-150 psi gauge, but Mitchell recommends the 0-100 psi gauge.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Thanks in adavnced.

Well, 7-1502 also confirms that combination (Using the 9040 sender).
Hundreds of plane were built with that combination. Never heard of the 65 psi limit.
Keep in mind too, that when this unit was added to the prints in the 90's, Mitchell's recommendation was used.

Lastly, what good is a 0-100 psi gauge when the red line is at 100?

So, I am unsure what is going on with your situation.
