MT or Hartzell?

Are there any documented performance benefits to changing from the Hartzell to the MT 2 blade propeller on a Super Decathlon? I will be putting on a new prop soon and was wondering if there are benefits to the MT beyond the 13 lbs savings. I have heard lots of antidotes of why the MT is better, but have not seen anything real concrete. Thanks

Our test pilot, Jody, surfs here but never answers...so I am paraphrasing his experience. He replaced the Hartzell with an MT on his 1979 Super D.

"The weight savings have significant reduced gyroscopics. Much more than you would think. "

For thrust calculations, the MT had a very slight edge. Likey, difficult to even measure in real world though.

Of course the MT is better, it's European - birthplace of aviation - need I say more 8)
