Nearly completed project.

I recently learned that I need to part with my toys and focus on getting "things in order''. Consequently, I'll be listing my project on the fly market for three weeks. If I don't find any interested party, I'll have to sell it in pieces. (My wife will not be able to do this.) I have put a lot of time, money and new parts into this bird so somebody will be able to pick up a bargain. Check it out on fly market.

I really don't want to get into it in a public forum such as this but suffice it to say that I'll not be passing any more flight physicals. Then an additional frustration is not being able to get my project posted on the Fly Market after sending two emails about it. Consequently, I'm ready to to have a "fire sale" on Cruisair parts and just get rid of as much as I can. :(

I am sorry to hear about your need to divest yourself of something so important and beautiful as a project like the 14-13. I have been in love with old airplanes and aviation for my entire life and cannot even begin to imagine being in a position of ridding myself of those amazing machines that I have given so much to. Again, I feel for you. I may be in a position to buy the entire project, though I know I can't pay what I imagine you have into it. I am 80% through with my 14-13 and have a 14-19 to put together after that. I think by that point I will be pretty good at the Bellanca thing. I certainly would like to at least speak with you about it, and if nothing else perhaps grab some parts from you for my 14-13. Let me know.

Hope things get better.

Cheers.

I would like to sell it as a project as it is probably within ninety days of being done. Zero time engine with overhauled mags, carburator, fuel punps, starter and generator. All new wiring, wing tip strobes, overhauled tail wheel and main gears with 1419 axels with Whelen disc brakes and new tires. New control cables, ELT, and new exhaust system. All new chains on landing gears and yokes. The wings, aelerons, flaps, elevators, and rudders are recovered with Poly Fiber and are finshed. They are ready to go on when the fuselage is ready. I was building this to fly and to be trouble free.

Wow, you've done quote a bit. Not sure I can pay what you are going to want for all the work and new parts that you have into it. Where is the airplane located? I travel quite a bit with my career and may be in your area. Would love to take a look and maybe we can come up with something. It would be an absolute crying shame for all that work to be wasted and have the airplane parted out.

Talk soon.

Well, I received a fair offer for my bird as a project and I was feeling pretty good about it until he said (via email) that he would send me a check for $5,500 dollars just to "hold it" until his agent got to look it over. I was to deposit the check and then send $2,500 to pay his agent to come and look at it. I told him to stick his worthless check where the sun doesn't shine. :) Stupid scammers!

Gary, Good Thinking, I have received a few like that. I was wondering if before you sell your Bellanca, you could take a few photos of the seat rails you had welded in for the bucket seats. I have all of the parts to go ahead, but photos might give me some needed details. Both Larry Lowenkron and I are thinking of doing the mod. If you dont feel up to taking photos, dont worry, we will do OK. _____Take care of yourself._______Grant.

Hi Grant,
I feel fine and will be happy to take pictures of the rails. However, when we welded the rails in, we hadn't accounted for the full width of the seats so it appeared that they would extend just beyond the interior wall. A friend said that wasn't a big deal as we had planned to recover the bucket seats and we could just make them a little narrower. I'll need the email for both you and Larry as I can't post them on this site. You can email me at garylbrink@yahoo.com.

Gary, Read the web site http://www.fatfat.us. I am 82 years old and pass my medical with ease.
YOU CAN TOO, Dang-it.

Kent Tarver

Kent, thanks for the encouragement. I have been seeing a specialist an am feeling great. He still hasn't agreed with my first physician and I do plan to finish my bird. Worst case scenario is that IF I don't pass my physical nearly two years from now, I'll still have the satisfaction of finishing my project and hopefully of flying it as well.
