New ACA Wings.

Gentlemen I have new ACA metal spar wings on my 70 7KCAB so I believe it has the new tanks too. The fuel tanks are placarded as 19 US Gals on each wing but this appears to be incorrect. I'm guessing I've got 18 per side. Am I correct? Also while on the topic of fuel calibration. Is this done in the flying attitude(most likely) and how great a difference is there between the three point and the flying position? The guages have a slight discrepancy between left and right. Not much but enough to keep you guessing. With the guages bouncing consistently during flight the only accurate guage is a stopwatch. How many run a fuel totalizer? What type?

Thanks

Yes, its supposed to be 18 gallons per side; 17.5 usable

Level condition on the guages. So raise the tail if you are doing any calibration on the ground.
You will see a fairly significant difference between 3-point and level (except when full or empty, of course).
Remember the guage is still a float on an arm, so it will behave as such.

Hope that helps :)

I have a JPI FS-450 and it is always within .1 to .2 gallons of actual burn, that is within the range of variability when refueling. The gph rate accuracy is astounding and allows some limited engine troubleshooting, it will show an increase with a seriously fouled plug.
