I cannot specifically answer the question.
However that is an much better way to get inverted oil to the oil pump quicker, as it is more direct and doesn't have so much air in the hose.
If you bought a complete new system you should be able to read the paperwork to get the answer.
Or you could call Lycoming and ask if the part is approved for your engine.
I would personally just be glad to have it that way as long as the installing mechanic approves of it, it is his responsibility.
