Oil change in brand new Decathlon

Hello, This is my first post to this site.

My friend has asked me to help him change his oil on his brand new Decathlon. He's coming up on 25 hours.

I'm an A&P but haven't worked as one for 15 years.
Can anyone tell me what size (if any) crush washers will be needed? Also, is switching to ashless disperant after 25 hours still the "normal" thing to do, or do should you go 50.

Are there any tricks or tips involved changing the oil with the inverted oil system?

Thanks.

The oil needs to be changed. Do you know if the rings have totally seated? If it's not broke in completely you might still need the mineral oil.I ran into this situation a few months back with some millinieum cylinders the rings did not seat in comepletely. Their rep told us to change the oil at 20 to 25 and keep mineral oil in until 50 and see if the rings would completely seat.If you have a remote filter and a quick drain you want need a crush ring unless you are cleaning the sump screen. Back to the oil if not sure call Lycoming and get their advice.

Mark-

It is SOP to convert to Ashless Disoersant at the first 25 hour oil change, the only reason to delay would be continued oil comsumption. The most usual reason for failure to break-in within the first 25 hors is an owner who babies a new engine thinking he being "good" to it.

The oil sump suction gasket is Lycoming PN 06E19769-1.00, I don't have the PN for the drain gasket, common practice is to install a quick drain.
