OIL COOLER

I have a 7kcab that the oil temp is barely manageable when it is mid 90's outside. Has anyone experienced this problem and any solutions. Baffling appears to be in order. Oil cooler fins are all clean. Checking the temp probe and flushing the oil cooler are the next steps I have considered. Does anyone have any wisdom to impart. If you have any pictures of your oil cooler installation, I would love to see some of them.

Thanks
Greg

Greag,
I have an 8KCAB I have been flying for 11 years, oil temp may get to 200 with OAT of 95. At under 90 they are180 and lower. When I tow a banner or a glider I open the ground adjustable cowl flap, and then even in hot weather temps are normal range.
I would, in this order:
Be sure the baffling is all there
Check the temp gauge
Check ignition timing
Flush cooler
Replace the vernatherm oil cooler bybass valve #75944
Install the ground adjustable cowl flap
The cowl flap is ACA #4-1696, drawing #7-1475
Hope this helps,
Bill Becker
