Oil Sump Screen Missing

In my annual inspection the A&P found that the oil screen is missing from the plug in the bottom of the sump. He is not familiar with inverted systems and asked if it was not supposed to be there?

This is on a 1972 7KCAB, Fuel injected and inverted oil system IO-320. It is a cylindrical screen on the plug that the oil return line connects to.
