I'm doing the first annual on my 1979 7-ECA and have noticed that the two forward lift struts are quite different. Both have the square lugs at the top, but on one the welded transition from the streamline tube to the lug is much more abrupt. The transition at the bottom is different also and one strut does not have a drain hole. Both the aft struts have drain holes. The logs show a rebuild from salvage about 15 years ago, but don't specifically mention the struts. Anyone know if both struts are acceptable? Should a drain hole be added?
