PTT switch

Hi,
I have a 99 7GCBC. On a recent trip, my Push-to-talk switch appeared to fail, wouldn't transmit when depressed. I replaced the PTT but am still not able to transmit when pushing red button. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on what could be wrong or how to fix it.

Hi Jeff,

A good place to check would be the audio panel or intercom you are using. Most manuals can be found online, and if you put a meter on the MIC Key line, it should ring to ground when the PTT is pressed. If it does and you still have troubles, you may have an issue with the audio panle or intercom. If it does not, you will need to check that the switch, and wiring are in good order, and have a good bonding to ground.(.01 or so on the meter)
