Recover/Rebuild/Overhaul Manuals

I'm considering purchasing a Super D recover project that is 50% completed. I have some limited experience in recovering. I've assisted others and taken the Polyfiber course twice. Since I didn't take this airplane project apart initially are there any OEM factory manuals or after market technical manuals that can provide guidance on how to put one of these airplanes back together?

Usually if you're the guy taking it apart you can document where everything goes, but if you purchase one in progress and are relatively new at working on airplanes how does one figure out how it goes back together correctly? I'd rather purchase this project versus a Legend Cub kit that has the guidance included.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I have a friend that can inspect and sign off but doesn't have the time to instruct.

Thanks Fellas...

You can buy the parts and the maintenance manuals from ACA Go to there website http://www.americanchampionaircraft.com . You can also buy drwings from them, they are very larg and helpfull.
I bought my 8KCAB dissasembled also, I had a friend with a 7KCAB, so I had his airplane to look at when nessesary, along with the manuals and drawings mentioned.
I recomend you find a 7KCAB or 8KCAB that you can go look at when you have questions.
You can also email me with any questions I could help with.

Mark,

I'm getting ready to start a rebuild myself. What part of the country are you in?

I have the parts and service manuals. Both are good. I'd be interested as well to see if there is anything else. Now, I'm a little curious about the larger drawings.

I had just planned on taking a TON of pictures and video along the way. I have already taken quite a few pics of mine while it's still together. And I've been collecting as many pictures as I can of partially assembled ones. Let me know if you're interested in those at least.

I'm in Mississippi BTW.

Parts and Service Manuals, as well as a long list of other related publications are available from the Club https://bellanca-championclub.com/PubOrderHW.html

The Drawings are listed with the part # at the top of each section in the parts manual. They are very detailed and helpfull.
I bought several of them, including, Fuselage Cover, Fuselge Frame, Fuselage Fuel Syst. etc.
Just call ACA, they will help.

ACA also has been doing a good ammount of rebuilds and repairs. Basically, its good work for us while new plane sales are slim. So, if you don't want to finish the work yourself, the factory does all sorts of rebuilds. Its under our Certified Repair Station, but its the same employees that build the new stuff.

Not really great documentation out that besides prints, and all the prints will get pricey. Select prints are worth pure gold; others have less info on them than their cost to copy. The service and parts manual will help. An exploded veiw does not really tell you what order or direction to put something on, but it still helps.
