Rudder Horn Springs Wearing a Groove

The spring attach links on my rudder horn are wearing a groove into the casting. A buddy at the airport mentioned that he heard there was a legal fix for this but didn't know the details. Does anyone know if such a fix exists and how to go about it?

You might try these at Aircraft Spruce or another outfit...

AN42B-10 EYE BOLT DRILLED

AN42B-4 EYE BOLT DRILLED

You'll have to check with someone else on the legality.

I was going to post the same tip as Jon, I've seem them used on a number of planes and my Champ will have them when I get around to it.

I assume you slide the eyebolts from the top into both the rudder horn and tail wheel control ears. This arrangement would put a torque, albiet slight, on the components. Am I right and if so, does this configuration change the steeling pressure configuration?
