Scout axles and brakes

I want to put AK Bushwheels on the Scout, but they now tell me I have the wrong size wheels and my axles are not the right ones. Do the new Scouts have different set ups now? AKB is calling out for 600-6 wheels and new axles, will cost about 1600 before you even buy the tires. Yikes. Does the factory accept trade ins? and the brakes must be changed as well. What gives?

Ya gotta go big or go home 8) I went through the same thing last year. New axles, new brakes new wheels, and worth every penny.
 
I would guess somewhere in 2005 the scouts started coming with the rim and brake that is AK bushwheel compatable. Yes, its a different axle and a slightly smaller rim (6x6) with the 8.50 stuffed onto it. The caliper is the same (I think), but the disc has different spacing and the axle it designed for the correct spacing of any tire on a 6x6 rim.

So, yeah, he is right unless you got a very new bird.

I would retain your existing wheels and brakes and tires for when you either want to sell it, or want small tires.
