Interested in knowing what other owners and renters are getting for speed numbers. Granted, the 7 and 8 series are not know for being speed demons, but they do offer a lot of versatility. Please indicate model, year, and engine with your speed numbers. Here is what I have seen:

2005 7GCBC 180hp 0-360 fp prop, 2500 RPM = 120 mph.

1946 7AC 115 hp 0-235 2500 RPM = 95 MPH

1946 7AC A-65 2200 RPM = 85 MPH

'79 8KCAB with 150 hp and F/P pro (I believe it is 58" pitch):
Approx 65% power (30 litres/hour, mixture lean)
2350 rpm at sea level 101 kts IAS (103 kts TAS)
2410 rpm at 2500 ft 100 kts IAS (106 kts TAS)
2480 rpm at 5000 ft 98 kts IAS (107 kts TAS)
