Split door option

Hello,

Can the split door option be left open in flight? Do they open fully like a cub?

i have a post up asking where to buy the split door as an add on. so far no replies. however i have flown 2 different 7eca's with the split door. some call it a shooters door. anyway, they work differently than a cub. the 2 i have seen opened on the top like a cub and can be opened in flight up to 90mph indicated airspeed. the bottom still hinges out like a standard door. really cool with the side window that hinges full open. sure wish someone would jump in with where to get one. hope this helps.

SafeAir used to list the doors. I think WagAero now has a listing. Not as expensive as I would have thought. You might also get them from American Champion. I don't know if it's still an option. David J.
 
Just looked in the WagAero online catalogue and found this page but the parts only reference the 8GCBC.
