STC for Decathlon towhook?

Geri,
You do not need an STC for the tow hitch as it is listed as optional
equipment item #37A Page 20 of the FAA approved flight manual. You should do
a 337 form and state that it was installed per ACA drawing 7-1143. You can
get the drawing from ACA if you need it.
I have towed lots of banners and my 150 HP Decathlon works great for
that. I have towed gliders, the 150 HP is marginal for that, hope you have
180 HP, I think that would work well.
