Steel gear legs vs Aluminum gear legs for 8KCAB

I am interested in increasing the GW on my super D. ACA service letter 423 refers to the aluminum gear retro or the intallation of 4-2038 steel gear legs.
Looking for feedback, pros and cons of Steel vs Aluminum to help make the decision.

Curt,
Some of the fabric support structure needs to be modified to install the aluminum gear. If I was recovering I would modify the area for the installation of either gear. I dont think I would tear the airplane up just to install the aluminum gear.
