Tire Sizes

I'm about to buy new tires for my 7ECA. I'd like to get something a little larger. I have the wheel pants off and don't care to put them back on. Does anyone have experience with the performance loss by going up to 8.00*6 or even 8.50*6 from the stock 6.00*6 tires? Thanks for any thoughts/recommendations you might have!
 
Hi per the TCDS required equipment sections the approved wheels and tires are 201- d or h or i or l . The 8.00x6 tires are approved the 8.50X6 are not on the TC which means they would need some kind of approval, whether it be via STC, 337 field approval or what ever. As for lost of performance I doubt you'll notice much at all, the biggest difference was in removing the wheel pants.
 
I had 8.50's on my Champ when I bought it. (no paperwork) I recently purchased some 26" AkBushwheels (their Airstreaks) that weight the same and I have legal paperwork. Really didn't notice much difference other than a nice soft landing. :)
