Tow Rings for Landing Gear

Does anyone have any information about tow rings for the landing gear that would allow for pulling a 7GCBC with a tow bar and tug?

I'm not sure if this is the response you wanted. Aircraft Spruce sells a great tow bar for citabria. I use it on a 1974 7GCBC. It's their "Bogerts Tow Bars Bogi-Bars" for the 3200/3400 Scott Series Tailwheel. Here's the link directly to it:

The handle comes off for easy storage, so I guess you could configure it to pull with a tug. I'm not so sure I would recommend it though. I would check with your mechanic. It's so easy push and pull by hand with the Bogi-Bar, I don't think you would need to use a tug.

Forgot to say that I'm pretty positive the 1974 7GCBC (not sure your year) has the Scott Tailwheel. I just posted a question trying to confirm that. Someone stole my Bogi-Bar, and I'm about to reorder. Just wanted to make sure that is it.

You're welcome. I use the tow bar to push the plane out of the hanger with relative ease, but not going that far with it. Good luck on finding what you are looking for. Sorry I can't help you further.

Hi Sam,
I have a set of these on my Cessna 185. They attach on the inboard side of the axle using the axle to gear leg bolts. There is a left and a right part, shaped as an angle so that the attachment for the tow bar, a 1 inch hole, is parallell to the ground. I believe that these were used on Cessna L19 Bird Dogs and are available from a company that rebuilds L19's, Air Repair. Just looking at the axles on a Scout project I have it looks likes the hole spacing is the same, but you would want to verify it.
The down side of using this type of towing arrangement is that it is kind of hard on the tailwheel, as it is intended to have full rudder deflection to release to the castering mode. This does not always happen when you go from forward to backward to push the airplane in the hanger.
