Upper Wing Gap Cover

My Upper Wing Gap Covers (trim pieces that seal the top of the wings to the fuselage) on both wings have black guey sealer that has oozed out from both sides of the trim piece. I bought the plane this way. Curious how others have tried to seal these gap covers, or if most owners don't find it necessary or desirable?

Also I have some black rubber molding that is old and brittle that seals the top corners of the windshield to the leading edges of the wings. What works well in this area?

Thanks
Greg

I call AcA ask for parts, tell them what I need and it shows up in a couple days.

I use a bit of super weatherstrip adhesive to hold the new rubber moulding on.

I use no other sealer
