Interesting news - the FAA has just authorized a new DER (Designated Engineering Representative) program specifically for Vintage aircraft, called the Vintage DER (VDER). With the new designation, a VDER can provide engineering support for ALL aspects of modifications for a specific aircraft type or closely related aircraft family (such as the Bellanca 14-xx series), rather than requiring multiple DERs for engine, airframe, propeller, electrical, covering, etc.
Hopefully, someone will get a VDER certification for the Bellanca 14-xx family. Maybe Webbers or the factory in Minnesota, or a club member will be able to get this certification.
