Voltage Regulator Questions

I recently bought a Cruisair with the wrong voltage regulator. I need one for my 15 amp, negative ground generator. I'd like to get a new one. Does anyone have a part number? Also, does anyone here know what the regs are on replacing these? They are all Delco auto parts, right, before the FAA had to approve every bloody part in the airplane? What about when the part number was superceded? Can we go with the updated part number? Does it have to come from the original manufacturer?

It used to be that any decent, old time auto parts store had a listing for Franklin or Aircooled Motors. Maybe they still do. Take your Delco p/n to them or a generator repair facility and see what they can do. Be aware that I've seen bad NIB regulators, made in Mexico!
