Hello,

I may have to get a new voltage regulator. What type/brand is required for a 1965 7ECA?

Thanks

Its much cheaper to switch over to newer solid state Voltage Regulators and you have seeral options. ACA sells the Lamar. I think Zebtronics has an STC as well. Probably a few more out there too.

Zeftronics offers an STC/PMA replacement unit for the voltage regulator and the overvoltage relay in one box; this gets rid of the mechanical Wico (little black box) relay as it can be part of the problem. I have personally updated my own Citabria this way.

Another important upgrade (Jerry is too shy to mention this) is the ACAC Electrical Service Kit, which corrects unprotected circuitry. Call their parts department for info and pricing.

Please let them know the Bellanca-Champion Club sent you.

Dear Bruno:

Don't have my logs handy, but I believe it was p/n R15V0N. In any case, check with Zeftronics first (800-362-8985) because there are two systems used on Citabrias; "A" and "B". They will know how to identify them.
