Flew to Watsonville about noon Friday with a fog bank not far off of the ocean side of the runway. Airport closed around 5 PM due to fog, and the parking crew said that 60 planes had arrived, compared to 160 planes last year at the same time. Saturday morning a couple of planes slipped in before the field was closed for the show. Watched a very good, but limited airshow because of the fog. We were the only low wing Bellanca, but there were a couple of Stinsons and a Maul so at least Franklins were represented. Had a good time but had to leave at the end of Saturdays show. It was a down wind takeoff to avoid flying into a rapidly closing fog bank. I hope Sunday was better weather for everyone.____Grant.
