I will be taking my CFI aircraft exam in a couple of weeks and I would very much like to find out about my weight and ballance. I have a Citabria 7KCAB serial #204. The aircraft was rebuilt in 2003. They weighed it and gave the weight and CG in the log book, but I don't have an equipment list and loading schedule. I have an owners manual but no POH. I'm not worried about the aircraft only the examiner. Can anyone help me out as to where I my obtain the proper documentation. Also What if anything do I need to do to increase my gross weight 100# Ron

Ron,
You may not want to undergo a CFI flight check before an FAA or designated examiner without spotless, perfect, A/C paperwork. If you do you, might regret it. Might, as in maybe. Do you feel lucky?
Well, do you? It's your life, and your FAA record.
The A/C could be red tagged, i.e grounded, and you may get awarded a violation. Maybe not! I have no crystal ball.
I believe a current and accurate equipment list is always required as part of the FAA aproved A/C flight manual or operations manual, and this should be reviewed at every annual inspection, and flight check when using this aircraft .
Check the A/C logs for additions or removals of equipment since the weighing. If there are any changes, have a certificated A&P determine the current weight and balance and make an entry in the "flight manual" ( i.e new equipment list and weight and balance info).
If all else fails, redo the weighing procedure. EXPENSIVE!
Above all, keep your record clean!!
Increasing gross weight may require an STC and/or FAA field approval. Good luck with that.

Happy flying, hope to see you at Columbia in June.

7 Series aircraft built prior to 3/1/79 are NOT required to have an AFM, or manual of any type. All of the early aircraft were delivered with a simple one page table of Operations Limitations.

A little late but the FAA site has the TC A-759 for the aircraft it list all the weights arms for all items that came with or can be added on.

Also the FAA will send you all the data, for $6-$7 - 337's and more that they have since new, this will include the minumn equipment list that it was certified with and weight & balance.

The POH is not a book but these forms, tags, instrument markings and update W&B & Eguipment list in the logbook or 337.

Mike-

Not sure your intent in quoting my post, while proper documentation of weight & balance, installed equipment/337's, required inspections, is required the point remains (in response to the original posting) that earlier aircraft are not required to have an AFM or POH for flight, and further the often supplied Owners Manual was info only (NOT FAA approved) and not required.

In most older aircraft the only documentation required to be onboard for flight is the Operations Limitations and Weight & Balance, in addition to required placards, CofA, Registration, etc.
