I have a '68 7ECA and have recently had wheel pants manufactured.
At present, I only have the inside mounting plate and not the wheel nut with extension. My first question is whether anyone knows what the original nut and extension looks like for this model. Secondly, my father has a 7FC and the wheel pants are mounted on a tube (aluminium I think) that slides inside the axle with a cap welded on the outer end. This cap has a threaded hole for the main bolt. The split pin for the wheel nut also goes through this tube. Does this seem an acceptable and safe alternative for the Citabria too?
