I just back from landing on frozen lakes. Does anyone ever takeoff with flaps?I've noticed I get off much faster with about 1/3 flaps for takeoff.We have some 5" drifts on the ice now,and the flaps really help. One must be careful not to overspeed the flaps after takeoff(86 mph),as this is easyly done. Has anyone noticed their ailerons getting rather stiff in cold weather? One other note,My oil temp(0-435) only gets to 50 degrees C when flying in o.a.t. temp of 15degrees F.
