1965 Citabria 7ECA O-200 Max RPM

Nice video. I've never had mine more that about 3500 - 4000 ft.

It is interesting to note your pitot tube is on the opposite side from mine. Also, that appears to be a fuel tank vent near it. My vent comes out the top through the upper left wing to fuselage fairing.

I don't think there are 2 65 models that came from the factory alike. :D

Also a note on mag timing. Depending on the cylinders you have, there is an AD on older ones requiring the timing to be retarded 4 degrees I think. I have the ones subject to the AD.

Thank you Dale! I'd really like to get my eyes on some other 65's to compare many things. Looks like you're not terribly far from SC. Do you regularly attend any specific flyins in the Southeast?

I'll take a look at my logs regarding the AD asap. Thanks for the heads up!

About the only fly ins I have attended are SERFI in Evergreen, AL west of here, and a small one at De Funiak Springs. Fl also a little west of here. Unfortunately, being CPA puts Sun and Fun out of the question since it is normally scheduled the last week or two of tax season.

There is another '65 owner in south central Georgia, Robert Mathis. He posts here periodically.

Just as a point of interest, mine has been owned from southern California to southern Florida. I corresponded with a guy in southern California who soloed in it in 1967. It one time had a fuel tank in the back seat area and was used as a fish spotter off the California coast.
It's no beauty queen, but it serves my purpose of building TW time since I am building a Nieuport 17.

Thank you Dale...too bad about SnF timing. Do you have a builder's log site for your Nieuport? Sounds like a fun project.

Yes, the Sun and Fun timing is a real bummer. I have only been twice when the dates fell after April 15.

As for the Nieuport build, I post build photos several places. The 2 most popular are:

www.theaerodrome.com in the Replica Aircraft Sub Forum under "Airdrome Nieuport 17 - Florida Version"

I also have a Facebook page "Dale's Nieuport17"

I am in the 6th year if a 3 year project.
