Cruisair Franklin Motor Mounts, Rubber

I delivered a set of 80 durometer mounts to Rock, yesterday. They were new production and the last I had. A friend in SoCal is supposed to make more and I have six sets on order. The Continental rubbers will work if you carve the shoulder off. Remember, the left rear attach bolt has got to on head down when replacing the rubber cones...unless you want to pull cylinder #1. This operation should be done twice in the life of the engine. Dan
 
Dan, obviously I'm not an A & P but what do you mean it needs to be done twice during the life of the engine? Are you talking about replacing the motor mounts? :?:

Gary, I'm assuming that new rubbers are installed at O/H. At the average rate of usage, another set should go in at 12-15 years or 700-900 hours. It's not a bad job to do during annual inspection. Apparently, ACM used the rubber cones that were commonly used as isolation mounts by many different airframe manufacturers. The ones I got came from a friend and were used in his Jacobs powered Waco. I don't know if they had an "AN" part number or what. Dan
