Engine options

For years I had hopes of putting a 220 into my Cruisair. In an unrelated conversation with Bruce Kown we discussed how the carb zone attaches to a Franklin motor. I had a horizontal helicopter motor at the time, that the carb zone bolted to the accessory case just like a 150/165. He said he had never seen one of the higher HP engines without a mounting plate to lower the carb zone. Depending on the clearance between the airbox and the bottom cowl, it might be possible to make a bracket and lower the carb zone just enough to not have to dent the tubes. Anybody with a 165 powered Cruisair willing to measure, or just take a guess at how much room there is between the bottom of your airbox and the cowl???? _____Grant.
